终于提前完成case了，兴奋得睡不着，不如把积了很久的功课做掉。其实三周前就想介绍Damien Rice的这张专辑"0"了。。呵呵
Damien Rice出生于爱尔兰，童年在County Kildare度过。对写歌的热爱促使Damien组成名为"Juniper"的摇滚乐队并于1997年签在宝丽金唱片(Polygram)旗下，但最后因为合约问题除了发行几首单曲("The World is Dead""Weathermen")外没有出一张专辑。Damien因此解散了乐队，1999年独自一人前往托斯卡纳区。游遍整个欧洲后，2000年他回到都柏林(Dublin)，用自己街头卖艺凑足的钱录制了一盘demo并交给了著名音乐制作人David Arnold(也是Bjork, Nina Persson, Paul Oakenfold的合作者)。幸运的是Arnold很喜欢他的作品，并帮助他建立了自己的录音室。首支单曲"The Blower's Daughter"(后来成为电影"Closer"片尾曲)在2001年一发行便跻身Top 20。2002年初在爱尔兰发行首张专辑"0"，之后在整个英国发行并赢得一片喝彩声。2003年6月"0"在美国和欧洲陆续发行，即获歌迷和媒体(比如Newsweek及The Boston Globe)的青睐。至此以后Damien Rice的声音逐渐传遍世界每个角落。

Damien Rice的声线弯转游离，仿佛蕴含一股不可抗拒的力量，穿透身体，让灵魂随之起舞。他的曲子里流淌着淡淡的忧伤，带一点民谣味道，但绝想不到他曾经是一个摇滚歌手。Damien在"0"这张专辑里，通过歌词描绘出一幅幅画面，配合空心的吉他扫弦或者大段大提琴solo，隐含着的鼓点每一击都直击心头。听他的作品，可以让人瞬时安静下来。真的是一种享受。

整张专辑中我推荐4首曲子。"Volcano"：就是现在的BGM了，尤其喜欢开始的大提琴solo，合着bass和drums，刚拿到手的时候独特节奏一下子吸引我所有注意力。"Delicate"：专辑第一首曲子。感觉是首后发制人的作品，高潮在曲子后半部分，Damien的声音从高处突然滑落，渐渐隐没在吉他的solo中。"Older Chests"叙述着一个故事，一些些哀伤。喜欢他和Lisa Hannigan的女声唱着，"Time,always time,on mine mind.So passed me by,i'll be fine,just give me time"。最后一首就是"the blower's daughter"，曾经做过我log的BGM，耳熟能详了，不多作介绍。之所以会成为电影"Closer"的主题曲，原因挺长，放到最后面提一下^^
专辑的试听点这里，有整张专辑完整Audio以及三支Video，速度很快，所以我在log上就不贴试听了。Tips：记得看看刚上站时的一段小flash，挺有意思的。

这里顺带提一下Damien作品里的那个声线悠扬的女声Lisa Hannigan。她的声音给我感觉很欧洲，欧洲偏北，比如冰岛呵呵。Lisa的声音贯穿Damien的整张专辑。02年的时候她作为lead vocalist和Damien在Dublin的"Temble Bar Music Centre"演出，之后她获得的掌声甚至高过Damien Rice本人，可见其功力了。现在她不仅跟随Damien到世界各地演出，也在其他作品中客串声音，比如在Mic Christopher的专辑 "Skylarking"里，以及原声碟 "Goldfish Memory"中。03年在Jessamyn Fiore的戏剧作品"The Mysterious World of Birds"中出演角色，作品在Dublin和Galway都有演出。

最后说一下关于"Closer"和"the blower's daughter".Damien的专辑"0"发行以后，"Closer"的导演Mike Nichols也不可避免的沦为他的歌迷，于是邀请Damien给他的电影作品写曲子，想用在lap dancing 那段情节中。可是时间太紧迫了，Damien为电影专门写的曲子"closer"还没完成，电影就杀青了。于是"the blower's daughter"成为并非为电影专门创作却与电影情节主题相当贴切的主题曲。The end.
